Pits n Pots

0Michael Rawlins3rd Feb 2009Portfolio, ,

Pits n Pots has been described as the UKs premier council chasing website. The site focuses on local accountability and the troubled Stoke-on-Trent political scene.  The site has been mentioned twice now in the House of Commons and cited by Department of Culture Ministers as an example of the future of local news.

Pits n Pots has been featured on BBC News and Radio France as well as in many national publications in the UK.

The story of the BNP using a Polish Spitfire in their marketing was broken by Pits n Pots 5 days before the national press picked the story up.

I run Pits n Pots with my business partner & close friend Tony Walley who founded the site in 2008 and we have a dedicated team of volunteers who work on the site with us.

Talk About Local

Michael Rawlins3rd Feb 2009Portfolio, , , , , ,

talk about local is a project to give people in their communities a powerful online voice.  We help people communicate and campaign more effectively using the web to influence events in the places in which they live, work or play.

I work here with:

  • William Perrin (founder)
  • Nicky Getgood
  • Clare White

Using our social media skills, investment from Channel4 & Screen WM and support from UK online centres we provide training and support to local communities across the UK to help them build websites and get a powerful on-line voice. Whether the community need to start an action campaign to deal with a local issue or they just want a community site to help them communicate we can help.

If you want to investigate ways that talk about local can work with your organisation or your community please use the contact details HERE
