The verification was as a result of Twitter contacting us at the outbreak of the recent disorders to see what support they could give us. A debate was had about whether the sub - force police twitter feeds should also be verified. Principally our thoughts are that people should know how to get up to date information at a time of crisis and that the principal force twitter feeds would be one of the main sources that people could turn to.
