Family History

published on January 26, 2012 by Mike Categories: Family #Tagged: 1930, Church Lads Brigade, Eli John Darby, Family, Granddad

Today 82 years ago, my Granddad was admitted in to 2628 Company of the ‘Church Lads Brigade’ at the rank of Private.

I’ve not found anything on 2628 company, I think they would have been in the Bradford & Beswick area of Manchester.

I can tell you that Company Number 2628 was attached to St Paul’s, Philip’s Park, in the Manchester Diocese. The company was enrolled in 1907 by Rev A Blackburn and you can see by the card that he was still its Chaplain in 1930. They met in St Paul’s School.
