The official London 2012 Twitter account is tweeting about how your team need your support and to tweet them up the leader board.

In the Independent on Sunday IOC officials say doing just that made for shambolic coverage of the mens cycle race on Saturday.

IOC communications director Mark Adams called on spectators to think about how often they use their phones during popular events.

We don't want to stop people engaging in this by social media and sending updates, he said, But perhaps they might consider only sending urgent updates.
