The RNLI has a history of innovation in fundraising, holding the first street collection in 1891. Bitcoin is an innovative new kind of currency and we believe that accepting Bitcoin will result in donations we may not otherwise receive, as well as connecting us with new types of supporters.

The RNLI have said that they are not accepting Bitcoins in any of their shops, museums or on the main RNLI website. They say they will monitor how much gets donated via Bitcoin before making any further decisions on donations in other forms of cryptocurrency

The RNLI have set up a dedicated Bitcoin donation page here https://rnli.org/howtosupportus/donatenow/Pages/bitcoin.aspx
