On Wednesday I chaired a public meeting about the closure of Turriff Care Home. The meeting had been planned to be held in the Town House but the number of people who came to the meeting meant we had to move it to the hall in the British Legion.
Over 100 people turned up to the meeting to listen to and ask questions of John Kirk from Four Seasons Health Care, who ran the care home.
The meeting was generally good natured but the overall feeling of disappointment from the community at losing this facility was clear to see.
The meeting was never going to change the decision to close the care home but it did give the community the chance to make their views heard
Hopefully conversations will continue between Four Seasons and Aberdeenshire Council and the care home can be reopened in the near future.
