Buzzfeed is reporting that the BBC is going to start including websites in the ‘paper review’ section on the Radio4 Today programme.
According to a memo seen by Buzzfeed, the BBC have said
The papers will continue to form the backbone of the review but we are going to include some of the “new” news sources found online and elsewhere.
We’ll have to wait and see what these ‘new news sources’ actually are, will they just be the web estates from the dead tree press with the inclusion of Guido Fawkes, Conservative Home, Iain Dale and the Huffington Post et-al, or will the researchers be looking further afield and in the the Hyperlocal sector that the BBC is supposed to be supporting?
We’ll have to wait and see I guess, but I am not going to be holding my breath, I don’t think.
